The NYU Langone Health—Cobble Hill Emergency Department at the Joseph S. and Diane H. Steinberg Ambulatory Care Center is an off-campus emergency department that is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Previously located at 83 Amity Street, our new facility is conveniently located at 70 Atlantic Avenue, at the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Hicks Street, the site of the Joseph S. and Diane H. Steinberg Ambulatory Care Center—Cobble Hill.

Our medical experts from the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Emergency Medicine diagnose and treat the same types of emergencies typically seen in a hospital emergency department—including stroke and heart attack. Our services are more comprehensive than those typically offered by urgent care centers, which usually do not have advanced imaging services or emergency-trained nurses.

We provide care for people of all ages, and care for children is provided through Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone. CT scan and X-ray imaging services are available on-site. In addition, various specialists from NYU Langone are available for consultation through high-definition telemedicine, or video teleconferencing.

The vast majority of patients are treated and then discharged to their homes. For those who require hospital admission after receiving initial treatment, we have an ambulance available on-site to transfer you to one of several receiving hospitals in Brooklyn, including NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn. If you require clinical services not offered by one of our Brooklyn affiliates, we can transfer you to NYU Langone’s Tisch Hospital, Kimmel Pavilion, Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital—34th Street, or NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital in Manhattan.
