If you peek behind Hoboken’s commercial thoroughfare, you’ll find a cobblestone street that feels lost in time, perhaps because it is.

Court Street, which runs parallel to Washington Street, one block east, was constructed more than 125 years ago and remains one of the city’s few original cobblestone streets. It is a picturesque memento of a bygone Hoboken, but also an obstacle for cyclists, pedestrians and trucks after remaining largely untouched for two centuries.
